Not just Cat lovers...
TacoCat came into being when owners Benji and Erin returned from 15 months in Canada and travelling around the U.S. They were inspired by the food truck culture in North America and the authentic Mexican flavours that had migrated as far north as Vancouver.
TacoCat’s beginnings were humble: trialling recipes amongst family and friends, as well as a stint as a stall holder at Gilles Street market. When the ideal renovator's delight appeared in the form of a 1960s Wayfarer caravan, TacoCat became the mobile kitchen it is today. Since involvement in the first trial Splash Adelaide program, TacoCat has gone from a hobby to a full time business.
TacoCat is a nod to small independent businesses — the true 'Mom and Pop' style. Literally! You might be lucky enough to come across Pete, Benji's dad, flippin' tortillas of a Thursday.
With a trip to Mexico and continual edible 'research', TacoCat has fine-tuned its techniques and menu to provide a top notch catering option.
In short, TacoCat really does give a toss about food and prides itself on exceptional customer service ... even if that means being polite to a nameless, disorientated character trying to dry his socks on the generator.
